While the Motorola Xoom was once considered better than the iPad, with the release of the iPad 2, Motorolla might be in trouble. Motorolola's Xoom tablet has been one of the biggest competitiors of the iPad. The Xoom cost more to make than Apple's first iPad. People that preferred the Xoom to the iPad found that its display had a higher resolution, and they liked that it had a front and rear camera that allowed them to video chat. Although it was better than the iPad, the Xoom was much more expensive to make. Motorola priced the Xoom at $799, excluding the wireless service contract, as compared to a similar iPad that sells for $729. Because the Xoom can be upgraded free to the 4G cellular technology, the company's chief executive believes that the price for the Xoom is reasonable. When Motorola heard of Apple's iPad 2, their prices went up even more, as they aimed for even better quality.
Now that the iPad 2 is out, several people are extremely excited about it. Most people find that the iPad 2 runs a lot faster, and has much better features. The best feature that people find is the case that folds up and and cleans the screen, but that also works as a stand for the iPad. In addition, the iPad now also has a front and rear camera. I feel that although the Xoom also has great quality, the iPad 2 will definitely be great competition. In the end, I believe that it will ultimately come down to whichever company people prefer.

The motorala Xoom won't profit as much as Apple with the iPads. Simply put, Apple has the reputation of producing the best quality products, which will give them the advantage from the getco. As the Xoom product might actually be very well designed, the sheer fact that the iPad is an Apple product will give a superior advantage
