The consumer electronics industry has been moving at a high pace these last two decades. With technological advancements and cheaper production costs, major companies are now competing to create innovative products that both meet and satisfy their consumers’ wants. Apple, Motorola, Samsung and other big name companies are now facing the pressure of not only meeting their consumers’ wants but also coming up with great ideas for their existing product lines thus creating a competitive advantage against the many competitors in their market. I’m sure that everybody is aware of Apple’s production of the new iPad. Of course, it will include new improvements’ and features that the current iPad lacks. According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, it says that Apple has been facing threats in the tablet market, especially with other major companies releasing new products like Dell and Motorola. For that reason, Apple is moving quickly to release the new iPad and attract as many consumers as possible in order to raise its revenues and crush its competitors.

I find the pace that the consumer electronics industry develops to be surreal. I think that Apple, in particular, produces new technology especially quickly. Just when you think that Apple has put every possibility out on the market, Steve Jobs comes up with something new. After the first iPod Touch came out I thought that iPods couldn't possibly develop any more. However, Apple has proved me wrong, as they now have a nano that takes video and an FM radio on it. Apple is a great example of how quickly the consumer electronics industry moves. It is important to produce new technology quickly because it decreases other competition and attracts several more customers.
